Buju Banton show moved to new location
Read More: Buju Banton, Gay Pride Festival, The National

According to the National’s Facebook page, Buju Banton’s scheduled appearance at the National “has been moved to a new location.”
Banton has caused a great deal of controversy with his suggestive lyrics against the gay community. The show also happened to be the same night as the 25th anniversary of gay pride. The story gained local and national press as the community reached out to leaders, created a Facebook group and flooded the National’s fan page with comments in response.
The exact details and status of the show have not been released.
“If the show has been moved from the National, we are pleased that they’ve done the right thing,” says Jay Squires, President of the Gay Community Center of Richmond. “Once we know the complete situation and where the show is going, then we will review our efforts regarding Buju Banton.”
UPDATE: The Buju Banton show has been moved to the Hat Factory.
