Stop by the Belvidere at Broad

New restaurants open all the time in the city and most close just as quickly. The main reason (besides prices, service and food) is that they don’t really offer a reason to keep coming back to the establishment. The Belvidere at Broad doesn’t fall into that category. They do everything they can to keep customers coming back for more.

tastetherainbow-whiteLocated at 506 W. Broad Street on the corner of Belvidere and Broad (shocker, right?), the Belvidere at Broad serves dinner Tuesday through Saturday starting at 5pm.

The atmosphere is that of a neighborhood bar – small, intimate, friendly. It’s small but just big enough for a small group or a date with a cute boy.

The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Except the bartender was picking on my friend throughout the evening. In his defense, he says that she deserves it. I think they have a love-hate relationship. All in good fun though.

The bruschetta, served with marinated Roma tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil, was the tastiest appetizer I’ve had in a long time.

The Smoked Gouda Veggie Club is served with caramelized red onions, roasted red pepper, cucumbers, grilled marinated portabella and tomato with an avocado spread. Piece of advice: add the Apple smoked bacon. You’ll be glad you did.

But the highlight of the menu is the All Natural Beef Burger, a ½ lb. burger served with caramelized onions and tomatoes served on ciabatta bread. Once I picked it up, it never left my hands. Add in the sweet potato fries and I was in food heaven.

I think it’s safe to say that I’ll be returning.

Sounds interesting! But they need to fix the menu link on their website.

I have to agree with the burger and those fries. Add a Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale and it is absolutely divine.
