Counseling Student Must Follow Ethics Code

    May 17, 2012The Rainbow Minute

In December 2011, a three-judge panel of the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a lower court’s decision and rejected the claim of Jennifer Keeton.  She believed that her First Amendment rights were violated when Augusta State University required her to treat LGBT people in a respectful and nondiscriminatory way. ...

PollaklogoMichael Gooding of the Richmond Triangle Players steps from behind the scenes into the spotlight tonight.  Richmond Magazine recognizes Gooding at their Pollak Prizes as an Arts Innovator for his work with the Triangle Players, the only gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered theater company in the mid-Atlantic.

With a group of friends, Gooding created the Triangle Players and became their founding managing director.

More background from Richmond Magazine…

Between them, Gooding, Miller and Earle came up with a three-night showcase of comedic plays by Harvey Fierstein grouped together as “Safe Sex” to raise awareness and money for the Fan Free Clinic’s AIDS-prevention program. The sellout shows filled 60 mismatched folding chairs facing a stage illuminated by kitchen track lights with dimmer switches.

An independent committee of arts leaders and performers selected this year’s recipients.  Read about Gooding and all of the 2009 Pollak Prize winners here.

Thanks so much for your amazing and innovative work–and for doing this to benefit Fan Free Clinic’s AIDS-prevention program!! I am so sorry that I didn’t learn about it until today–I would have LOVED to have seen the show. I’ll make sure we are following you all on Twitter and Facebook from now on!! How fantastic. Please stop by and see us so we can thank you in person.
