I can't help also being disappointed by the few seriously counterproductive messages, like: "My gay friend can beat up your straight politician." Feeding anti-gay stereotypes that we are vulgar and sexually obsessed with messages like: "Stop stalking my coochi, Cucci" and "Gay men don't like Cucci." These messages work against us as well. I honestly don't believe we'll see meaningful or lasting change unless we look at the big picture and the roles we're playing in it. These flare-ups don't happen in a vacuum. We have to find it within ourselves to fight proactively and challenge BS, even when it's inconvenient.
